KHUSHHAL PAKISTAN PROGRAMME
(GUIDELINES)
BY FEDERAL MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT LG & RDD.

To alleviate poverty the Government of Pakistan has launched a Poverty reduction cum Development Programme. This Programme is titled as Khushhal Pakistan Programme (KPP). Phase-I of the Programme was launched in the year 2000. Following guidelines for identification of schemes under KPP were received as per the above quoted letter.
1. Farm-to-market roads,
2. Rehabilitation of water supply schemes.;
3. Repair and re-surfacing of small rural roads;
4. Pavement of streets, drains, and storm channels in villages;
5. Sewerage and garbage collection schemes;
6. Lining of water courses and de-silting of canals;
7. Essential repairs of Primary and High Schools;
8. Maintenance / creation of water reservoirs / ponds;
9. Small soil conservation schemes;
10. Provision and Renovation of civic amenities in towns and erstwhile Municipal Committees / Corporations areas.
11. Procurement of equipment / machines for imparting vocational training in the existing vocational centers.
12. Provision of electricity in rural areas.
13. New schemes and rehabilitation of existing schemes for safe water supply.
14. New schemes and rehabilitation of existing schemes for water conservation including check dams, small channels including water courses, their realignment, and local water storage schemes.
15. New schemes and rehabilitation of existing schemes for sites and services for low cost housing schemes, slum up gradation and rehabilitation.
16. Electricity and gas installations be carried out under Khushhal Pakistan Programme.
17. Smaller projects (below Rs.10 million) will be financed by the Provinces through KPP.
18. Larger projects above Rs.10 million will be financed by Planning & Development Division / Finance Ministry.
19. Provinces will lay down priorities.
20. Incomplete works of village electrification costing upto Rs. 10.million may be completed out of funds allocated to Provinces for Khushhal Pakistan Programme.
