After weeks of speculation, Xiaomi has officially set September 24 as the global debut date for its new Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro smartphones. The announcement came via the company’s official X account, putting an end to the rumors surrounding the launch timeline.

Munich Chosen as the Stage

The unveiling will take place in Munich, Germany, aligning with the city’s world-famous Oktoberfest. It’s a strategic choice — Xiaomi has increasingly used European cities to spotlight its flagship devices, signaling how important the region has become for the brand’s global growth.

Teasing Camera Upgrades

The company is promoting the event with the tagline “far closer.” While vague, it’s widely interpreted as a nod toward enhanced zoom capabilities, suggesting that the 15T Pro may bring a notable camera upgrade. Photography has long been one of the strongest selling points of the T-series, and Xiaomi looks ready to push it further.

The T-Series Formula

Xiaomi’s T lineup traditionally strikes a balance: delivering flagship-level power and premium cameras, while coming in at a slightly lower price point than the main Xiaomi 15 series. That positioning has earned it the label of a “flagship killer,” appealing to users who want high-end hardware without paying the absolute top-tier price.

What to Expect Under the Hood

Although Xiaomi hasn’t shared official specs yet, leaks and past trends give a solid hint. The Xiaomi 15T is likely to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8400 chipset, while the 15T Pro could step up to the Dimensity 9400 or 9400+, MediaTek’s most powerful offerings. If true, performance should be on par with — or even exceed — many 2025 Android flagships.

Countdown to Launch

With the reveal now less than three weeks away, Xiaomi is expected to drip-feed more teasers leading up to the Munich event. For now, the biggest question is whether the “far closer” tagline lives up to its promise — and if Xiaomi can once again undercut its rivals in the premium market.
