Funeral prayers were conducted for Asim Jamil, the son of prominent Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil, after Isha prayers in KhaneWaal. The gathering included various religious figures and mourners. Following the prayers, Asim Jamil was laid to rest in a local graveyard in Raisabad, Tulamba.
Asim Jamil’s tragic demise occurred due to gunshot wounds in Talamba on Sunday, as confirmed by local law enforcement. He was initially taken to the Talamba Rural Health Centre, where he was declared dead. While the exact cause of death appeared to be a gunshot, there were conflicting accounts.
A senior Punjab police official suggested that the deceased had inflicted the wound on himself, but some family members asserted that it was a tragic accident. Dr. Tahir Kamal Sahu, the brother of Tariq Jamil, categorically stated that his nephew had not taken his own life. He insisted that it was a tragic accident, explaining that they were all in good spirits at home on Saturday night. According to Dr. Sahu, Asim had accompanied his cousin to the gym, where an accidental discharge led to the unfortunate loss of his life.
