Authorities say electricity is gradually coming back online in regions devastated by recent flooding, with nearly half of the affected power infrastructure now operational.
The Power Division confirmed that 222 of the 487 flood-damaged feeders have been fully restored, while another 127 have been temporarily reconnected to keep critical services running. Out of the 49 grid stations impacted, most are now functional, though crews are still working around the clock to reach harder-hit locations.
Officials say challenges remain in remote or severely submerged areas, where access for repair teams is still limited. However, the pace of restoration suggests that most urban and semi-urban centers will see electricity supply normalized soon.
This effort comes as local authorities race to stabilize essential utilities before the next wave of rain, which could further complicate recovery.
