Tragic Wedding Celebration: 7-Year-Old Boy Killed, Man Injured in Karachi’s Orangi Town

In a separate incident, a young police officer was shot and wounded by robbers in the Gulbahar area. SHO Naveed Soomro informed Dawn.com that Constable Riaz Gul, 25, was on his way home when armed men intercepted him near Lasbela, in a sanitary market. “When he resisted, the robbers opened fire on him and fled without any loot,” the official stated. Gul sustained bullet injuries in both his legs and was transferred to the Aga Khan University Hospital.

A seven-year-old boy lost his life, and a young man suffered critical injuries during celebratory gunfire at a wedding in Karachi’s Orangi Town on Saturday night, according to the police. Orangi Town Station House Officer, Syed Ali Raza, stated that the boy, identified as Ayan Abdullah, and 28-year-old Amin were relatives of the groom. “They were hit by bullets when some individuals engaged in aerial firing during the wedding ceremony held inside MPR Colony at around 10 pm,” he informed Dawn.com.

The SHO mentioned that the police had completed legal procedures and were awaiting the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) by the relatives regarding the firing. Raza added that Amin and Ayan were promptly transported to a private hospital in Nazimabad. Regrettably, the seven-year-old boy did not survive his injuries, while Amin remains in critical condition.

In another occurrence, a young man was shot and injured by robbers near the NIPA Bridge. Aziz Bhatti police reported that Mohammed Bin Asad, 25, was injured during a robbery attempt near Sindbad and was subsequently taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
